Rioja Wines

Bold, rich and aged to perfection

From zesty whites bursting with citrus and tropical fruit flavours to elegant floral rosés and intense, robust, aged reds, let us present to you some of the most impressive Rioja wines that score highly in every single tasting. Our own personal favourite is a beautiful Gran Reserva with aromas of vanilla, oak and cherry, bursting in flavour on the palate and leaving you wanting more with its long, refined finish. It's not just a wine - it's an experience.

The perfect terroir

Rioja stretches over almost 100km and is divided into three regions: Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental.

Revered for its incredible wines thanks to paramount expertise, strict legislation on standards plus perfect climate and geographical conditions, there are more than 600 bodegas. Rioja wines are famous worldwide for their tempranillo - which accounts for around 90% of all production - and the synonymous deep, intense flavours.

Yet the region's producers continue to deliver new, innovative and incredible vintages year after year with the likes of tempranillo blanco (which began to grown naturally in a vineyard there in 1988) currently building a strong following.

Spanish wine starts with Rioja

Rioja is the pioneer of the Spanish wine industry. It's been 100 years since the Designation of Origin Rioja (DO) was born. But the story goes way beyond that - Bodegas Manzanos Haro was making wine in 1801. Marques de Riscal has been bottling wine since 1862 but their visionary project back began in 1858 when they began to use the revolutionary winemaking techniques from Bordeaux, France.

This changed everything.
